Equestrian is a very popular spectacle at the annual show. The Army team used to feature on a regular basis down the years. In fact, the winning Aga Khan Nations Cup team jumped here in the sixties. The Royal Blues Showband also sponsored a 14-hands pony event, with the highest prize money in Europe at the time. Cameron Hanley, a member of our Nations Cup team started out his career here before setting of on what became a very successful career and business in Germany. Many others have also started their careers here.
Unfortunately this event is affected by weather conditions which sometimes curtails the number of events.
